Elin Nordegren was born on January 1, 1980, in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother is a politician, while her father is a radio journalist. Elin has an identical twin sister named Josefin, and the family resided in the coastal town of Waxholm, near Stockholm, while the girls were growing up. She became famous once she was spotted with the highest paid and richest athlete of the world Tiger Woods.Woods asked Nordegren to marry him in November 2003 during a sunset walk at a game reserve in South Africa, after he competed in the Presidents Cup.
