Windows Media Player – Error downloading Codec for Video files

  If you encounter problem while opening any video file in Windows Media Player and if the player did not show what the error message is, then you can right click the red exclamation mark on right hand side of the Media Player where it displays the Playing list, then click show details menu option. This would show a dialog as shown above and on clicking Web Help button the codec which is required to play the media file will be shown.
