Microsoft Windows Vista Auto Play option
Microsoft Windows Vista has a Auto Play option in the Control Panel section. The option displays a windows as shown below
Using this the users can configure Auto Play feature and they can choose what happens when a media or device is inserted in to the system. Media includes Audio CD, Enhanced audio CD, DVD Movie, HD DVD Movie and others.
The type of options they can choose for Media or Device are
Ask me every time, Take no action, Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer and if it is DVD media type then it lists down options like Play DVD Video using HP DVD Play or Play DVD using Power Cinema e.t.c
This also has a feature to Reset all defaults if the users want to revert to the original system settings.
A good feature to have !!!

OLPC XO - Low Cost Laptop for the kids.
OLPC which stands for one laptop per child is a non profit organization formed for developing laptop for kids living in developing countries.
The laptop is made up of thick plastics. This does not have a hard drive and the operating system installed is Linux and relies on its 512MB of flash and 128MB of RAM.
This has a built-in
802.11b/g Wi-Fi which allows this to connect to other laptops even when there is no internet link.
The Keyboard is made up of rubber and has a touch pad, game pad and a directional pad.
The battery which is made of nickel-metal hydride and battery life of XO comes for a longer duration as it consumes very less power compared to the coventional laptops.
