Windows Vista Tips – How to increase the speed of your Vista PC

Most of the Vista users who have used XP before feel that Vista is slower than XP. One of way to speed up Vista PC is to turn off the indexing done for the drive.

  1. Click on Start
  2. Click Computer
  3. Right Click drive C. This should display the below dialog

Uncheck Index the drive for faster searching

You will be prompted with another dialog

and select Apply changes to drive C:, subfolders and files

This operation would require administrator privileges for applying the changes. And this change would have provide some improvement for your Vista PC.
