Microsoft Vista User Account Control and Startup Applications
Monday, February 25th, 2008Microsoft Vista Operating system has a built feature known as UAC. This protects the computer from unauthorized applications getting executed from the system. But there are situation where you would like have your PC run unauthorized application as well such as NetGear Wireless Wizard. And sometimes you need to run these application on your windows startup. In order to this the following steps have to be done
1. Click on Control panel to open the User accounts and Family Safety dialogs.
2. Select User Accounts section, which should open the dialog box as shown below.
3. Click on the Turn User Account Control on or off and uncheck the ‘Use User Account Control(UAC) to help protect your computer’ and click on Ok button.
This should allow any unauthorized program to get executed on the computer even during windows startup but the down side is you might end up running sometime potential malicious software.
