I am a transcriptionist and I use a lot of the same sentences or phrases in my transcription. In the older versions of word I only had to use autoformat and could add these sentences or phrases and when I started to type them the first word or two and they would automatically be typed into my transcription. How does 2007 do this. Please let me know.
Donna,
I’m in a similar situation. I loved the AutoCorrect feature in Word 2003, but it has been a challenge to regain the same efficiencies in Word 2007. I think I’ve finally figured it out.
Go to Insert –> Quick Parts –> Building Blocks Organizer. Here is where you enter all those frequently used sentences and phrases. Then, when typing, you must hit F3 after typing the first few letters. Then, Word 2007 will automatically enter your data.
I spent an hour or so on the phone with Microsoft Tech Support to get all my words, phrases, and sentences automatically transferred from Word 2003 to Word 2007. I have no idea how we did it, but we got it done.
Do a Google search for something like “transferring autocorrect from Word 2003 to Word 2007″. The answer is out there.
I know my answer isn’t everything you need, but I hope it gives you enough information to finish the job on your own. Good luck.
Problem I am encountering is I am creating autocorrects for frequently used words and phrases, but as soon as I close document or shut down, and restart, all of it has disappeared. How do I solve this problem.
Thanks for visiting Digital Answers. Can you let me know whether after adding new words and phrases did you try to save the document before closing or restarting your PC?
Regards
Ravi
