How to change user account name in Windows Vista

Windows Vista provides option to change or rename account name using Control Panel. You can access this by clicking Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts

This should display the following menu option

Windows Vista Make Changes to your user account 

Click on the Change your account name option and this should display the following screen where you can type a new account name.

This name will appear on the Welcome Screen and on the Start menu.

This does not change the name completly, this just changes the displayed name, it does not change much, the computer still uses the old name for everything
