If you want to turn on or turn off the auto spell check in Word 2007 then you can use the Proofing settings. This is available under the Word Options
Click on the Office Button -> Word Options.
Under Word Options, navigate to the Proofing.
Under When correcting spelling and grammar in Word, tick the check box if want to turn on or un tick the check box if you want to turn off the auto spell check.
