If you want to access a Windows 7 remotely, then you need to enable the remote desktop feature for that PC. This can be enabled using the Advanced System Settings.
Right Click on the Computer menu available under Start Menu and select Properties.
This should display the System settings window, click on the Advanced system settings link to view System Properties window
In Remote tab and under Remote Desktop section, options are available to enable or disable Remote Desktop feature.
The default Remote Desktop option is “Don’t allow connections to this computer”. If you allow Remote Desktop access, then you can select either of the two options depending upon your requirement.
- Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop
- Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication.
You can also provide restrictive access by using the Select Users button and specifying the Remote Desktop Users
