How to Format, Rename and set Password for the memory card on Nokia 5800 XM

Formatting a memory card is not required unless you fell that the card has got full of junk and you need to have it clean. This is a very simple process but has to be done very carefully. Follow the below steps to proceed,

1. Make sure you take a backup of the files that you want before you go for the formatting, because formatting will clear all the data that you have on the card.
2. Go to Menu.
3. Select Applications
4. Select File Manager
5. Double-click on E: Memory Card
6. Select Options and Select Memory Card Options and then click Format

When you have done with these steps you can see that your memory card is formatted. Here are the steps to rename your memory card, (You can have any name that you want to…)

1. Go to Menu.
2. Select Applications
3. Select File Manager
4. Double-click on E: Memory Card
5. Select Options and Select Memory Card Options and then click Name, you will be asked to enter the name.

You can also set password to the memory card so that when someone browse your phone will be restricted to have access to the data you have stored in the card. Let’s see how to do this,

1. Go to Menu.
2. Select Applications
3. Select File Manager
4. Double-click on E: Memory Card
5. Select Options and Select Memory card password and click Set to enter the password.
