In Excel 2010, you can insert date and time using different formulas
Insert date
Navigate to the cell where you want to insert date and type =TODAY()
Insert date and time
Navigate to the cell where you want to insert date and and type =NOW()
Insert Time
Navigate to the cell where you want to insert time and and press Ctrl + Shift + : keys
