Change the default file format of database in Access 2013

This tutorial is about the steps required to change the default file format of Access database. Access 2013 by default creates new database in 2007-2013 file format. But if you have needs to create the database in earlier format then you can do the following.

Step 1: Click the File menu and select Options from the menu list.


Step 2: In the Options window, click the General tab and navigate to Creating databases section.


Step 3: Click the Default file for Blank database drop down and choose the required version.


Now if you want to create access database in previous version i.e Access 2000, then choose Access 2000 then click OK button to confirm and save the changes.
