This tutorial is about the steps required increase or decrease auto recover time in Excel 2011 for Mac.
Auto Recovery is a feature will automatically try to recover unsaved work during unexpected or accidental shutdown or after crash of the application. And for this purpose, Excel periodically takes backup of the current work. The default auto recover time is set to 10 minutes.
Change Auto Recover time interval
Excel users for Mac can increase or decrease the auto recovery time using the option provided as part of Excel Preferences.
Step 1: Click Excel menu and select Preferences from the menu list.
Step 2: In the Excel Preferences screen, click Save option under Sharing and Privacy section.
Step 3: Navigate to Settings section and use the Save AutoRecover option to increase or decrease the Auto Recovery time. If for some reason you want to disable AutoRecovery in Excel then unmark the check box with caption as “Save AutoRecover information after this number of minutes“.
