Changing fonts on Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

Got bored of seeing the default fonts on your phone? Here are some simple steps about how to change the font. As you know there are lot of websites where free fonts are available for download. Just download any font that you like, for example i would suggest take comic sans ms (which will be available in your windows machine itself)

1. When you have taken the font, make four copies of this font.

2. Rename all the four fonts as,

s60snr.ttf

s60ssb.ttf

s60tsb.ttf

S60ZDIGI.ttf

3. Connect the phone to your computer and select ‘Mass Storage’

4. Navigate to ‘resource’ folder and open it.

5. Create a folder named as “Fonts” and paste all these four fonts in this folder.

6. Restart the phone to see the fonts got changed.

How to get back to the default font

1. Connect the phone to your computer and select ‘Mass Storage’

2. Navigate to ‘resource’ folder and open it.

3. Delete the Fonts folder or rename the Fonts folder as Fonts2 or something

4. Restart the phone to see the default font.

The limitation is you cannot have multiple fonts and select them from the list.

*10 simple steps For those who are stuck…!* 😀
    On PC:
    1) Open the Start Menu
    2) Click Search
    3) Then click ‘all files and folders’
    4) Type ‘.ttf’ and press Enter
    5) When the search is completed, select the font you like (Double click it to see the sample)
    6) Make a folder in the ‘resource’ folder and name it ‘Fonts’
    7) Copy the fonts FILE and paste it four times in the fonts FOLDER which you’ve just made in the ‘resource’ folder.
    8) Rename them as:
    -s60sn
    -s60ssb
    -s60tsb
    -S60ZDIGI
(NOTE: this is where most of you get mistaken…
Do NOT write the file extension i.e ‘.ttf’ because the font file you have selected is already a ‘.ttf’ file!
If you write .ttf, your phone will read it as ‘.ttf.ttf’ twice! So, DONT WRITE it!!!)
    9) Disconnect your phone from the computer
    Then, On Mobile:
    10) Restart your phone & enjoy your favourite font style on your mobile phone 🙂
