I set up my Outlook settings as mentioned here to get my yahoo mail into Outlook but when I do a send/receive or test account settings, a login screen comes up:

    Enter Network Password
    Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
    User Name: jagoeller1
Password: my yahoo password goes here

Login screen keeps coming up as if credentials are wrong. Am I putting in the wrong information somewhere?

  • Srijish Sridharan May 11, 2009, 10:47 pm

As for inquiries regarding Yahoo settings – you have to have a yahoo premium a/c to have the pop3/smtp setting to work. Gmail and Hotmail do not charge for pop/smtp.

  • Brian Taylor August 13, 2011, 3:47 pm

Dear Sir…, Via Windows 7 and using MS Outlook Office 7 I have a Google Gmail account and Windows Live Hotmail account.
    1) first configured nthe hotmail account using Outlook Connector and all testing OK
    2) Configured the Gmail account as advised and have both in the Outlook folder list.
    3) Trouble is when sending a test email fron Hotmail to Gmail via Outlook, the message comes back to Outlook Hotmail Inbox instead of the Gmail Inbox. Tried many alternatives but with the same result.
    4) Tried making the Gmail account as default but no good. Is it anything to do with a PST file?
    Please advise
    Brian
