Different ways to rename folder on Mac OS X Lion

There are more than one way to rename a folder on Mac OS X Lion. Mac users can rename a folder by the following methods

  • Using Get Info option
  • Pressing Return command on the Keyboard.

Get Info

Select and right click on the folder that needs to be renamed. This would bring up the following list of menus and now pick Get Info from the list.


The following Get Info window or the selected folder will be displayed. Navigate to Name & Extension section and rename the folder.


Return Command

Another quick way to rename any folder on Mac System is to select the Folder and press return command on the Keyboard. This would highlight the folder name and will allow users to edit he name.
