Finding files and folders by date on Mac

Mac users have the option to search files and folders by date using Advanced Find feature. For instance, you had downloaded some pdf files today on your Mac but don’t remember the file name and saved location then this feature could be handy to locate the files.

Step 1: Launch Finder tool on Mac and navigate to Search text box available at the top right hand corner.

Step 2: Select “This Mac” under Search option to specify that you want to search the whole of Mac system.

Step 3: Now click + sign below the search text box.

Step 4: Select “Created date” for Kind drop down and “today” for the date criteria.

Step 5: Now add another filter to specify the file type (Kind) as PDF.

Now this should list all the PDF documents that were created or downloaded today on your Mac.
