How to always open blank document in Word 2011

Word 2011 for Mac provides users with the option to always open blank document instead of showing the templates gallery. Most of the time if you are planning to use blank document then you can turn off the display of Gallery during the launch of application.

Method 1: When you launch the Word 2011 the following gallery window will be displayed.

Now navigate to bottom of the screen and mark the check box with caption as “Don’t show this when opening Word” before choosing a template.

Method 2: If you have missed disabling the gallery option during launch then you can use the option provided as part of General Preferences. Click the Word menu and select Preferences from the menu list.

In Word Preferences screen, navigate to Authoring and Proofing Tools and click General Option.

Under the General Settings page, unmark the check box with caption as “Open Word Document Gallery when application opens
