How to change password of email accounts on Google Nexus 7

We have earlier covered the steps for configuring Yahoo or Hotmail account in E-Mail app on Google Nexus 7. In this tutorial, we will see the steps for changing the password for already configured mail account on Nexus.

Step 1: Tap the Email app on  your Nexus 7

Step 2: Tap the menu option on right hand side and select Settings from the list.

Mail Account Settings

Step 3: Navigate to Server Settings and tap Incoming settings out Outgoing settings.

Server Settings

This should display the following Server Settings screen with the option to specify the password.

Step 4: Now enter the new password and tap the Done option at the bottom of the screen.

After Validating Server Settings, the new password will be saved to your device.

It took some time to locate this option and never thought this would under the Incoming or Outgoing settings. Not sure whether I have missed out any obvious instruction in locating change password option.

I have followed your instructions, but cannot change password on both incoming and outgoing simultaneously. I keep getting a message saying incorrect password.

I had the same problem since I changed google password on my laptop and could not sync on my Nexus 7. I could find a solution for the same. I removed the original account by going to the settings and signed in again with the new password by going to add account. Now the problem is rectified.
