Change product key for Microsoft Word in Office 2010 and Office 2013

The product key for Office 2010 can be changed using the change product key option available as part of the Help menu. In Office 2013, the option is available as part of Account menu

This can be accessed by clicking on the File menu –> Change Product Key link

The Change Product Key would display the following dialog box for entering the New Product Key. Click Continue to complete the setup

Didn’t work. Change product key is not listed under the Help menu. Only a link to activate product. I have 4 MS Office 2010 keys and am trying to figure out which one I registered with my Desktop. So I guess the only way to input a new key is to uninstall MS Office 2010 and start all over again.

I have Microsoft word 2008 that is connected to another user with a product key so I am unable to open it. I have another Product Key but when I uninstall the old version, empty the trash and redownload it to use a different product key it doesn’t ask for one. The one time it did, i entered the new product key and it still went to the old user. Suggestions?

Uninstall, then choose Enter Product key (instead of repair, uninstall etc)

This is pretty useless. I don’t have the option to change the product key because I haven’t activated the software yet, and I can’t activate the software because the wrong product key was entered, and there is never any option to change it

My husband’s organization purchased Office Professional Plus 2010. He has a laptop and was given a disc to install it. He was also sent a product key and told to install it on our home computer as well. Which we did and it went fine.

The problem is that if i click on a Word doc in an email or on the internet, I get an Office dialog box that comes up and tells me that I DON’T have it installed! Unless I’m able to copy and paste something, I am unble to open it. I have unistalled and reinstalled the software, and i have even gone so far as to delete any MSWord files/folders/programs that seemed safe to do! And STILL I get the same annoying and interfering dialog box!

I should say that I just today found information on the MS Office site that explained that there is apparently a previously installed (but unactivated) version on our laptop. Not sure where to go from here.

    Thanks for your help!

I FOUND A WAY TO INPUT A NEW PRODUCT KEY. THIS HAPPENED TO ME TOO. I PUT IN A WRONG PRODUCT KEY AND IT DOESN’T LET YOU CHANGE IT FROM THE WORD MENU BECAUSE THE ONLY OPTION IS TO ACTIVATE PRODUCT KEY WHICH DOESN’T WORK. OK SO GO TO START BUTTON AND GO TO CONTROL PANEL, THEN GO TO UNSTILL PROGRAM MENU. LOOK FOR MICROSOFT WORD AND INSTEAD OF UNINSTALLING CLICK ON CHANGE AND IT WILL GIVE YOU SEVERAL OPTIONS AND ONE OF THEM IS ENTER A PRODUCT KEY. I HOPE THIS WORKS FROM EVERYONE.

Ok I have funny yet stressful problem with the product key, when I input the product’s key when I install the Microsoft Office it said that my product key is valid(because when you input the invalid product key it will not allow you to choose the “continue” button), BUT when I use my Ms. Word the “Microsoft Office Activation Wizard” popped up, and I choose ” I want to activate the software over the internet” AND THE FUNNY things begins from here, it says that “This product cannot be activated because the product key is not valid” hell yeah.. anyone know how to solve it? I bought it in September 2013, and after few weeks I formatted my computer because my computer got infected by virus. And when I want to re-install the office this problem happens..

Well, thanks very much. But what I use is the SmartKey Product Key Recovery to find out my Windows and Office 2010 product key and it works for me. You can google search “smartkey product key recovery” to find more details about it.
