How to change the file download location in Safari

Generally all browsers provide option for changing the file download location. For example a user can change the download location in Firefox using the browser’s option menu. Similarly Safari provides option for changing the download location using the preferences menu. To change the file download location in Safari Web browser

  • Click the General Settings menu and select Preferences from the list of available menus


  • In the General tab, navigate to Save downloaded files to and click the dropdown arrow available next to the Downloads option value.


  • Select Other…. option from the dropdown values, this would display the following Browse for Folder dialog box.


The selected folder would now appear under Save downloaded files to: field.
