Change text direction in Microsoft Word

This tutorial is about the changing the text direction in a word 2016, 2013 and 2010. When you have a table in Word document and want to change the direction of column headers then you can use the text direction feature.

Let us say you want to have a table column headers as shown below


Step 1: Launch the Word document.

Step 2: Insert the a three column table in the document.

Step 3: Enter the name of the column headers as “Name”, “Score 1”, “Score 2”

Step 4: After selecting Score 1, right click and pick the Text Direction from the Context Menu.


Step 5: Now change the orientation and click OK after seeing the Preview.


Step 6: Repeat the same for the second column header.

    I have 2010 and when I do this I can no longer select the table. It bugs out. I can’t select is anymore. When I right click it brings up picture formatting tools.
