How to check version of Safari on iPad

We have already covered how to check version of Safari installed on a PC. This answers a query posted by one of the Digital Answers reader.

Soon i hit safari icon on my ipad 2, I go to google search engine. I cannot see the general settings about safari on ipad2. Still, i do not kanow, what version of safari I am using. Can you please be more specific.

As far as I aware, Safari browser installed on a iPad 2 comes with the ios and can not be upgraded separately. But if you want to check the version of Safari installed on iPad 2, then launch the Safari browser and  navigate to address bar and type “javascript:alert(navigator.userAgent)”. Press enter after entering this command.

    I key in any letter in the address bar and the”Safari” disappeared immediately.
    what’s the problem?

    I used this code.but it is not working. it’s showing “safari cannot run the script because javascript is not allowed to be used this way”.
