Windows 7 displays a Jump List when you right click on the program icon displayed on the Taskbar. For example if you have Word 2010 running on your Windows 7 PC and when you right click on the Word icon on the Taskbar, the following Jump List will be displayed.
This Jump List will contain the recent documents that have been accessed using Word 2010. Windows 7 also provides option to clear these recent documents from the Jump List. This can be done by right clicking on Taskbar and selecting Properties from the list of available menus.
The following Taskbar and Start Menu Properties will be displayed as shown below
Navigate to Start Menu tab and then click Customize. This would display following Customize Start Menu window.
In the Customize Start Menu window, navigate to Start menu size section.
To clear recent documents displayed in Jump Lists, set the value as 0 for Number of recent items to display in Jump Lists field. Click OK button to confirm and save the changes.
Now the Jump list for Microsoft Word 2010 will not display the recently accessed documents.
