How to configure Gmail account in Windows Mail

Windows Mail provides option to the user to configure Gmail account using the Account Options.

Click Tools menu and then select Account menu from the available menu list.

Click the Add button. This would display the following windows where Account Type needs to be selected. Select E-mail Account from the available list of values

Enter the Display Name and click Next

Enter your Gmail address in E-mail address field and click next.

Enter the POP3 and SMTP details in the Setup email servers window

Mark the checkbox with label as Outgoing server requires authentication. Click next and enter the username and password details

Again navigate to Internet Accounts Window and click Properties button

This would display the properties for the configured Gmail Account. Navigate to Advanced tab and provide the details for Server Port Numbers and also mark the check box with label as This server requires a secure connection (SSL) for both SMTP and POP3. Click the Apply button and then OK to save the changes.
