How to copy existing theme to new presentation in PowerPoint 2010

In this tutorial, we will be seeing how to copy a theme from an existing presentation to new presentation in PowerPoint 2010. Launch PowerPoint 2010 and click New menu option under File menu and select Blank Presentation from the list of available templates and themes.

Now click the Design menu and navigate to themes section. Under themes section, click the arrow pointing downwards to expand the themes list.

New from existing presentation.

Selecting Browse for Themes would display the following Choose Theme or Themed Document dialog box. Now locate your the existing PowerPoint presentation from which you want to copy the theme then click the Apply button.

The theme from the selected presentation file will be applied to your current presentation.

There is also another way to copy the theme from an existing presentation but it will also copy the content of the presentation. You can do this by clicking File menu –> New –> then selecting New from existing option.

    Thanks for this, I was pulling my hair out trying to figure why copying and pasting an item from one presentation to another changed it’s colour from pink to green.

    I just needed to copy the theme 🙂
