I am sending a document by fax to a company whose offices do not allow use of internet at their offices for security reasons so I have to FAX documents to them. To avoid them missing a page I want to have numbering: Page 1 of 4, Page 2 of 4. Page 3 of 4, then on the end Page 4 of 4.

Let us say you have inserted page number in the footer section of the word document. And now you want to have the page number in the format as a of b. You can achieve this by using the option provided as part of Header & Footer Tools.

Step 1:- Navigate to the Footer section and select the Page number field.

Step 2:- Click the Page Number drop down available under Header & Footer section.

I am having difficulty formatting page numbers in an Appellate Brief for a course assignment. I need “i, ii, iii. . . ” and “1, 2, 3 . . .” I already have this setup. However I had to add a page in between these sections, and it now shows as page iii. I need it to be page 1, while making the next page 2, which is now page 1. Can you please assist me?
