How to open command prompt on Windows 8

Are you finding difficulties to open command prompt on Windows 8, then check out the information provided below.

There are two different ways using which Windows 8 users can access command prompt.

  • Run dialog
  • App Search Screen

Run Command

We know that there isn’t any Start button on Windows 8, so you can access Run dialog either by pressing Win Key + R

You can also launch Run dialog by navigating to bottom left corner then right clicking on the Metro Style Start menu and Selecting Run from the menu list.

In the Run dialog, type cmd and press the OK button.

App Search Screen

Click the Search icon available on the Windows 8 sidebar. Then type first few starting letters of Command Prompt which should display the available apps in the Search list. Select Command Prompt from the list to launch the program.
