Rename a worksheet in Excel

In this short beginners tutorial, let us see the different ways to rename an worksheet in Excel 2016, 2013 and Excel 2010.

Using Office Ribbon

Click the Home menu and navigate to Cells section. Click the Format drop down arrow and select Rename Sheet (Organize Sheets) from the displayed menus.

This would highlight, sheet tab for editing as shown below

Using Context Menu

Right click on the Sheet tab and select Rename from the menu list.

Double click the Sheet tab

The easiest option to rename a sheet is to simply double click the Sheet tab and rename it.
