Insert current date and time in Word 2011 for Mac

In this tutorial we are going to see the different ways by which you can add date and time to a word document.

Adding date and time to Header and Footer

Step 1: Launch Word 2011 and click Document Elements tab.

Step 2: In the Document Elements, click Header option and select your preferred style.

Step 3: Place your cursor to the position (inside header) where you want to insert date and time.

Step 4: Navigate to Header and Footer tab and click Date or Time or both.

Insert Date and time in paragraph

If you are want to insert date and time inside a paragraph then you can use the option available as part of insert menu.

Step 1: Place your cursor to position where you want to add date and time.

Step 2: Click the Insert menu and select Date and Time from the menu list.

Step 3: Pick a suitable date or time or both formats from the Date and Time screen.

Step 4: Mark the check box with caption as “Update automatically” to auto update the date and time. This option would set the current date and time when ever you launch a word document.

If you want to set the current date and time after the launch then right click on the inserted value and select Update Field option.
