Microsoft announces free antivirus software (MSE)

Microsoft has announced Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) an antivirus software to protect the computers against viruses, spyware, rootkits, and trojans. This software is currently under testing by the Microsoft employees and few testers. MSE will help users fight the threats that plague Windows PCs.
A beta release of MSE has already been released on June 23, 2009 for the first 75,000 users. This download is available in English and Brazilian Portuguese for public download at http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials
Microsoft will release a second public build by the end of this year which will mark the company’s first free solution. MSE will be available as standalone 32-bit and 64-bit downloads for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Features and performance of MSE
