Moto G5 Plus – How to scan barcodes using the camera (without any third party app)

Scanning barcodes is now more simple as there is no need of installing a third party app to scan the it as the Moto G5 Plus device comes with its own active viewfinder, which lets you scan barcodes using the Camera app itself. You can test this by opening the camera app and scan a barcode, this will scan and produce two icons – one being the link to open in a browser and other being the copy. Clicking on the link icon will open the browser and shows the related info of the barcode that was scanned.

This update is available only on selected Moto devices and it should be running Android version of  5.1 Lollipop. But on the Moto g5 Plus you don’t have to do anything as the update is pre installed. This is a most useful feature where the user doesn’t need to install any third party app.
