Problem : Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac displays the following error message during activation.
“Sorry there was a problem while trying to connect to your account. (Error code 0x8000003)”
Solution :The Mac version of my system is 10.8.2 and region was set to India. This problem got resolved after changing the region from India to United States.
Step 1: Click the Apple icon and select System Preferences from the menu list.
Step 2: In the System Preferences window, click the Language & Text option under Personal section.
Step 3: Click the Region tab and change the value fro Region from India to United States.
Step 4: Now you should be able to activate to Office 2011 for Mac successfully.
