This disk doesn’t use the GUID Partition Table Scheme

Mac Operating System needs to be installed on a system on Journaled Partition system. If you are trying to installing on a disk with NT File System then you would see the following error message – “This disk doesn’t use the GUID Partition Table Scheme”. Listed below the steps to change the partition using Mac Disk Utility.

Step 1: Launch Disk Utility on Mac

Step 2: Select Disk whose partition needs to be changed to Journaled Partition

Step 3: Navigate to Erase tab and set the Format as “Mac OS-Extended (Journaled)” and provide name for your disk.

Step 4: Then click Erase button to start formatting the disk.

Step 5: Click the Erase button in the “Are you sure you want to erase the partition” popup.
