Turn off reply inline feature in Outlook 2016 & 2013

This tutorial is about the steps required to turn off reply inline feature in Outlook 2013.

Outlook 2013 has a new feature that allows users to reply inline to any message. When you select Reply option for a message, the reply window is displayed in the reading pane instead of opening a new message window.


And if you want turn off reply inline feature then you can follow below mentioned steps.

Step 1: Click File menu and select Options from the list.


Step 2: In the Outlook Options screen, click Mail tab and scroll down to Replies and forwards section.

Step 3: Mark the check box with caption as “Open replies and forwards in new window


Step 4: Click OK button to confirm and save the changes.

This would force Outlook to open new message window when you select Reply option. Another quicker alternative is to turn off reading pane in Outlook which would automatically turn off the reply inline feature.
