What is reading highlight in Word 2010?

Microsoft Word 2010 has a Reading Highlight feature which will help users to highlight all the occurrence of the search text. This is useful when you are doing  proof reading and want to verify a specific word. You can access this feature using the options available as part Advanced Find.

Reading Highlight

Open the word document, navigate to Editing section and select Advanced Find from the Find menu drop down list.

In the Find and Replace dialog, navigate to Find what and enter the text that needs to highlighted in the document.

Click the Reading Highlight button and select Highlight All option.

And if the document contains the search text then all the occurrences will be highlighted in yellow color. You can also navigate to each occurrence by clicking the Find Next button.

Clear Highlighting

If you want to clear the highlighted text then select Clear Highlighting option available under Reading Highlight

You can also clear highlighting by simply making any changes to the Word document.
